British entry to Eurovision Song Contest 2011 is famous band Blue with song I Can. Blue are an English pop boy band, consisting of members Simon Webbe, Lee Ryan, Duncan James and Antony Costa. Blue originally formed in 2001 before splitting in 2005. In April 2009, the group reunited and a Best of Blue Tour was announced.

On 29 January the BBC announced that 2000s boy band Blue has been internally selected to compete at the Eurovision Song Contest 2011. The group will perform the song I Can at the contest on 14 May 2011. For the first time in British Eurovision history both the song and act have been internally selected, with no say from the British public. Two members of Blue have had previous involvement in the British Eurovision selection: Antony Costa came 2nd in the 2006 national final Making Your Mind Up with the song It’s a Beautiful Thing, Duncan James was a panelist during Your Country Needs You 2009 and announced the British votes at the 2009 Contest.

The BBC have announced that a one-hour documentary will be filmed showing Blue’s preparation for the contest, including footage of the band recording I Can, traveling across Europe to promote it, and receiving advice from many leading music experts. Show will be aired on BBC One in April.

British participants – boys from Blue – in Eurovision Song Contest 2011 are very strong and aim for the best result in Düsseldorf on May 14th during Eurovision 2011 Grand Finale!
