Eldar & Nigar have completed another stage of their programme in preparation for the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest by concluding the video shoot for their song, Running Scared. The entry represents Azerbaijan in Düsseldorf in the first semi-final on Tuesday 10th May.
The video shoot for Running Scared was directed by Tarmo Krimm, who produced the 2002 Eurovision Song Contest in Tallinn. As a fan of the competition first and foremost, he wanted the chance to direct the music video to entry and Eldar & Nigar was delighted with the collaboration. The Running Scared video is one of Tarmo’s first forays into the world of music video direction.
The official Running Scared video tells the romantic and sensual story of the song intertwined with backdrops of nature and coastal locations. The final cut of the official video will be aired for the first time on Monday 11th April. The growing musical chemistry between the two singers is clear to see and the results speak for themselves; proving that the decision to hold back before making the video was the right one.
With the video now in the cutting room, the pair will turn their attention to the campaign trail. “Eurovision is very popular in Azerbaijan,” explains Eldar, “we’re working as hard as we can not disappoint anyone. Azerbaijan’s done well in the past but the competition is stronger than ever and we’re privileged to be involved alongside so many incredible artists. I can’t believe we’ll be on the same stage as Blue [UK], Getter Jani [Estonia], Eric Saade [Sweden], Amaury Vassili [France] and the Eurovision Champion Lena who has a great chance of winning again this year”.
