Laura van den Bruel (stage name Iris) will represent Belgium at Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Iris was born in a village called Morkhoven situated in the Belgian province of Antwerp in 1995. Since her early childhood Laura looked up to Beyonce, Kelly Clarkson and Natalia and cherished a dream once to become a real professional artist, a great singer charming the whole world with magic notes of her voice.

Not so long ago an internal selection group at VRT noticed her on YouTube and beleived her to become number one in Europe. Last year she was discovered by a record label SonicAngel at a talent competition. Iris had a lot of success since then, especially with her current single Wonderful which is hiting the top in the Belgian charts and has been doing so for five weeks now.

For now Iris is 16 years old and thus she is the youngest singer ever chosen by VRT to represent Belgium at such a serious song competition. Whether Iris will succeed on May 22d at Eurovision Song Contest 2012, you are the boss to deside.
