Eurovision Talents Online Bring you the Balkan Version of “Drip Drop”

The Balkan version of the Azerbaijani entry for the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest, Drip drop has been released today. The track features none other than Serbia’s Zeljko Joksimovic, who represented former Serbia & Montenegro back in 2004, achieving 2nd place.

In the Balkan version of Drip drop, both Zeljko’s voice and completely new instrumentation created by him can be heard. It took Zeljko Joksimovic and his team of five musicians and arrangers 10 days of hard work in his Belgrade studio to re-create the song.

“This version of Drip drop is one of the biggest surprises on my path to Eurovision to date, I was impressed when I heard that Zeljko Joksimovicwould create Balkan version of the Drip drop!” Safura commented.

“I am especially delighted with the song version that has been made because I would say, I have succeeded to introduce a Balkan covering with the flavor of Orient into a Western-style song that is very beautiful at a first listening while being at the same time hermetical concerning any kind of changes. I am exceptionally contented with Safura’s voice, with the color of her voice and expression that she possesses while singing it, is only at the age of 17,”–said Zeljko.

This Balkan version of Drip drop is said to be Zeljko’s first duet in connection with Eurovision and his first joint musical project in more than 5 years.
